A tasty Swiss quick easy dish perfect for the cold winter weather to fill your tummy and warm your cockles!
|3 potatoes (scrubbed)
12 onces macaroni (uncooked)
2 tbsps butter
2 onions (peeled and sliced)
1 clove minced garlic
3 spoons flour to thicken white sauce
|12 cup gruyere/parmesan cheese (shredded)
1 litre/carton heavy cream
This makes for roughly 10 people-good with a salad and crusty bread!
|1||Peel Potatoes and cut into small chunks.|
|2||Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.|
|3||Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni pasta and potato chunks and cook until barely tender, about 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.|
|4||Melt the butter in a large sauce-pan over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook and stir until onion starts to turn translucent. Stir in the garlic, and cook for a few more minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.|
|5||Layer the macaroni, onions and potatoes into the prepared baking dish. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the shredded Gruyere/Alpkase cheese over the top, and drizzle cream evenly over the entire dish.|
|6||Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes.|
