Spring is here-that means new chickens and Alpine Strawberries…

Finally the snow has melted for good here at The Good Life In Practice Headquarters!

We have had the weekend to go outside and sort out allotment area a bit more! We managed to weed it, rake it and clear some areas to ready for planting later on. Additionally, we have rebuilt the stone slab walls around one vegetable raised bed (it had fallen down due to heavy snow coverage).

We found a batch of Alpine Strawberry plants too in one patch so have re-planted them in rows down one end of the bed-in the hope they will grow! we shall see…

This weekend we had the chance to go to OBI and LANDI nearby hardware and outdoor stores. We managed to get some chicken wire, bedding for the new chickens and a big bag of bio layers pellets for them. Hoping to make the fencing and house on our next weekend off!

Had a quick plan and look down end of house to see where would be best place for the chicken run, dimensions of it and where to put the coop.
