News from the allotment

The weather has been grand recently! The peas are growing nicely in their rows and I have put some small canes up too. The salad crops are doing nicely and I transferred some mixed salad leaf seedlings into the salad raised bed to grow on. The Callaloo and Mazur lettuce is growing. The potatoes have been out there for a bit now after being chitted so covering them when and as needed when we see shoots above the soil. The Alpine Strawberries are doing really well and have established good strong roots.

Have put some pepper seeds down in trays on windowsill and they have come up, as have the asparagus pea seeds. Hoping they grow fast so I can transfer to the ground. The windowsill is getting pretty full at the moment with lots of small pots with seeds and seedlings growing in.

The chives and oregano are keeping our kitchen supplied with fresh herbs too for meal times!
