East Anglia Potato Day was a great event held yesterday. There was bad weather for it unfortunately with heavy rain and stormy high winds – however, many smallholders and gardeners turned out for it!
Lots to do and see:
- Plenty of seedling potatoes to choose from
- Chip tasting and voting
- Fresh cakes, cheese, meat and breads from local businesses and vendors
- old gardening tools
Also some great organisations were there to talk too and see including:
- The Allotment Society
- The Wildlife Trust
- Organic Gardeners groups from Suffolk, Norfolk and Ipswich
- Suffolk Recycle and Reduce Waste
We came away with some seedling potatoes – I got a bag of Nadines to try this year.
